Seafarer’s DTS

Want to discover the joy of sailing and grow your faith in God?

New Zealand is renowned for great sailing as it borders the Blue Continent, and Tauranga is ideally situated for seafarers. Come be part of an authentic community seeking to experience God’s character and love in a radical way. Each week of the three-month Training Phase, you dive into growing in Christ and sharing your faith. On Saturdays, we turn towards the shore for sailing and sailing-related adventures.

Activities can include:

  • Learn to Sail
  • Basic Fist aid course
  • Knot-tying
  • Day Skipper Certificate
  • Exploring the beautiful coast around the Bay of Plenty

Finally, you’ll take your heart of adventure to the nations during the two-month Outreach Phase. We are committed to reaching the lost, caring for the poor, and loving the one in front of us. Our short-term outreaches serve long-term workers and come alongside existing ministries. Altogether, it will be an unforgettable experience as you know God
and make Him known.

If you are interested in pursuing sailing either as a career or for missions, this DTS can lead on to other related and professional level training within YWAM.
