Join the Word by Heart School for an open week! Maybe you are available for just a week or maybe you want to have a taste of the school to see if it is for you?
Grow deeper in your intimacy with Jesus. As you study and memorise His Word it will become a part of you. As you go deep, you will experience transformation, and as you pass it on, it will change the world.
Our goal is to know God by taking His Word deep into our hearts. The school grounds you in a complete overview of the Bible from Genesis to Revelation, and in the open weeks, you can choose which section to study. However, you won’t just study the Word; you will experience it and that experience will change you. In the week you will be trained as a storyteller – bringing the words of Jesus to life by bridging cultures and languages.
The Open Week teaches the methods and gives a good foundation to learn from. Just get in touch to find out more.

Act like eyewitnesses to Jesus’ story, the greatest story ever told. Word By Heart helps you know Jesus personally and share him in a unique way by internalizing the Gospels and sharing them word-for-word with others. You’ll experience Him through your own imagination. It’ll be as if you were walking with him while he performed many miracles like healing the man with a withered hand.
Engaging with Jesus in this way will change you. Jesus lived the most impacting life ever lived. As you draw close to him, he will start to transform you. You will experience a surge of energy for him that will empower you to spread his good news everywhere.

- The process of “TruthTelling”
- Re-imagining the Word
- Personalisation of the passage at hand
- Learning the exact words of Scripture
- Retelling the Story
- Story Text Analysis: the search for meaning in the event
- Basic Vocal Technique: making meaning hearable, the place and power of gesture
- Memorisation Techniques: creating memories/images vs. rote, paraphrasing, talking and listening
- Character and Nature of God: Word made flesh
- Setting the Scene: creating an imaginary physical memory
- Communication and Comedy: playing the moment and reliving the story in the telling as if you were an eye witness, getting the laugh, oral tradition
- Story Arch and Flow: maps, power points, presentations, reviewing
OPEN WEEK FEES:
- $350 – Live onsite: includes food, housing and educational costs. Note – we have limited accomodation space available – so first in.
- $130 – Own accommodation: price includes educational costs.
*The fees do not include: visas or personal expenses such as toiletries, snacks and postage, airfare and bus/shuttle needed to get you from Auckland to Tauranga. We DO provide pick-ups from the Tauranga Airport and bus stop.
